The Classes
The Kiddies Ceilidh Club is a very basic Scottish Ceilidh dance class for children 5 and under and their parents/carers. It is a fabulous way to exercise and bond with your child. Parents are required to stay and participate with their child during the class, you really would not want to miss out anyway!
You are welcome to bring multiple children, as long as they are under your care and children are welcome to bring cuddly toys to dance with too! The 30 minute classes include warms ups and the teaching of simplified steps of a variety of Ceilidh dances and we end with tea, juice, biscuits and some social time.
We will teach and demonstrate all dances, helping anyone in need along the way. Older children will be able to pick up on steps more quickly while the younger children will enjoy the music, dancing and atmosphere.
It is a great, fun workout for the whole family! Whether you clap out the beat on the side, dance every dance alongside your child, or hold your baby as we go around in circles, there is something for you at this class.

Music and movement is something babies, toddlers and young children enjoy and benefit from immensely. It is a way for them to connect with the world around them, express feelings, exert energy and learn.
Bringing your child to a dance class at a young age exposes them to the joys of music and movement and dancing with your child helps to strengthen your own relationship while having a great time!
It teaches rhythm, coordination and helps with counting too. A Scottish Ceilidh is one of the most exciting and fun social dance experiences out there and we think you will find that your children wholeheartedly agree!

Who We Are
Lara
Lara's earliest dancing memories are of birling round the kitchen to the weekly radio broadcast, 'Take The Floor'.
Her love of traditional Scottish music has blossomed through childhood, teen years, student life, her wedding ceilidh (best ever). Now she wants to share with the next generation, which is great as she's got a very enthusiastic dance partner in her daughter, Islay!
Lara studied illustration and has worked in London and New York.
Her favourite job - apart from ironing her husband's shirts - was as a Befriender to teens in Renfrewshire.![]() |

Despite being an American, Alisa takes after her Scottish husband and loves a good ceilidh. She participated in Scottish Country dancing and competed in Highland Dancing in her youth and is always eager to know when a family member might be getting married next in the hopes of having a ceilidh to dance at.
She currently teaches piano lessons to
young beginners and in addition to attending school has spent the last
10 years doing various nanny jobs or working in special education
classrooms. She hopes to pass on her love of dance and music to her wee
daughter, Eleanor, who already spends most of her days grooving to the
beat.
